As someone as passionate about events as I am fashion, it’s important to stress that events isn’t just about organising logistics – just like fashion it’s an expressive art. If you think it through well enough, you can bedazzle audiences with a fantastic show. It’s important for “fashionista’s” to attend fashionable events at awesome venues.
So here are my top 3 hot spots:
London Sky Bar (http://www.londonskybar.com)
If you read my fashion blog, you probably know I’m a born and bred Londoner. I pride myself on being a part of it. The London Sky Bar completely encapsulates the city with one important thing – the inspiring view.
It’s located in the heart of Westminster and is the tallest riverside building in the capital. I remember being amazed with how pretty it made the London Eye and House of Parliament look at night.
There are four venues: I spent my time at Altitude 360. It was a really contemporary venue with relaxing lounge music. The cocktails are rather pricey but it’s expected in Mayfair. If it’s a place where you are looking to be entertained it probably isn’t for you as once you see the view – the magic is pretty lost. However, if you are looking for a beautiful (Sex and the City) style backdrop to catch up with a friend or two this is definitely for you.
The Cuban (http://www.thecuban.co.uk/ )
The Cuban is set in the trendy but rebellious Camden! As you can tell by the name, the joint restaurant and bar have a South American theme to it!
The restaurant and bar are both reasonably priced so you can have a great night out without having to worry about your bank balance. The Cuban has an entertainment schedule and it really does vary. It is usual live Latin music and dancing followed by a modern DJ that plays of some house, funky and R&B.
Although the entrance may seem very rustic, once you get in the Cuban you know you’ve entered a very warm and cosy setting – everyone is out to have fun!
Kona Kai (http://www.konakai.co.uk/ )
On the other side of London, lies Kona Kai. This is an up and coming hot spot (let’s hope that it doesn’t get too mainstream!) I love going to exotic themed bars because to take my mind of the not-so-exotic weather in London.
This Polynesian themed bar is great! You have the opportunity to drink tropical cocktails from seaside shells, be entertained by Polynesian dancers and have a great night out in to the early morning. I love this venue, because so much thought has gone behind the effort and the layout to bring the theme alive. The venue is a bit tiny and can get really packed on a Friday and Saturday but it is really worth a visit.
